On 24th June, I was invited by a friend for food tasting at a new opening restaurant at Sunway Pyramid Hotel West. As usual, the traffic at KL was heavy on Friday. It took about 1 hour for me to reach there, but it was totally worth it.

Salmon Cream Croquette - RM19/plate
The dinner started around 7.30pm. We were honoured with a sitting at the VIP room. It was private & had a nice environment located at the side of the restaurant. The starter-salmon cream croquette was recommended by the Captain. For me, this starter looks like chicken nuggets. We were served very quickly and it was great because we were all hungry. The combination of salmon flakes with cheese was very yummy.
One of their signatures - Sushi Burger
(Soft shell crab w Thai mango chilli sauce)
Next, we ordered a few more dishes to taste. Yummy, yummy! The next food served was their signature sushi burger. The soft shell crab was fried nicely and not over cooked, and it mixes well with the spicy chilli.
The food ordering system was very efficient. We were given a tablet with a digital menu and just had to tap on the food images.
Tomyam soup w River Prawn
Their Tomyam soup, highly recommended! Very "hiong"with the lemongrass, kaffirr lime leaves, fresh big prawn & mushrooms.
If you prefer to share and try a few type of starters. I suggest that you to order the 4 season platter RM38/plate. It comes with a special dipping sauce which is very tasty.
I also ordered the Salmon Sashimi. A plate with 5pcs costs RM16. Trust me, after your first taste, you will want to order more.
Don't miss the chance to taste the signature skewers with grilled scallop & salmon. When I put them in my mouth, they just melt.
I really like the story behind Sanoook. Sanoook is inspired by the owner's love affair with Thai and Japanese cuisine. Thus, she had an idea to open a restaurant with this combination. Whoever likes Thai and spicy food as well as Japanese can have their meal at the same place.
Honestly, the seafood they serve is fresh. It's really a heaven for the foodies. If you happen to be in Sunway Lagoon or Sunway Pyramid, why not just drop by and try out this restaurant. Don't forget to try their salmon w scallop skewers!
