TANGS Malaysia Bloggers' Event

Hi, Happy Monday everyone! Two weeks ago, I was invited by Nikki Lee from TDST Sdn Bhd for The Fashion Social event on the 19th July 2014 (Saturday).  For that day we had to bring a camera and a plus 1 of the opposite gender along. The dress code of the day is casual and comfortable, and I was informed that there would be fun activities on the day.

After a quick briefing, all the bloggers drew random numbers. This would determine the type of outfit you would wear.

As usual, I wore a casual top and jeans without make up. This is my "before makeover" look. From the photo, you can see I was ready to take off  my spectacles and face the challenge.

Top: HEADLINE SEOUL - Sequined long sleeved sweater

My lucky number for the day is 6, and I got the long sleeved shirt with sequins. I really like the fabric because it was comfortable and really soft to the touch.

After getting my top, I started hunting for a bottom and accessories. The organiser showed me some of the sections from the the brand list where we could choose from on that day.

First, I went to search for the accessories and found these sunglasses. Phew phew "Do I look cool enough for this look"?

The TANGS promoter was very helpful, she have give me some ideas on how to mix and match the accessories.

Accessories: DANDELION ACCESSORIES - Sunglasses & bangle

After selecting accessories, I was looking for some long and short pants to complete my outfit. TANGS at 1 Utama is really big, and there are many types of the clothes to choose from. Luckily, I met up the Floor Executive and got some valuable advice. Her assistance was greatly appreciated.

Bottom : blue patterned shorts

Bottom : 3-quarter trendy fitted pants

Shoes : metal tipped blue ballet flats

This is my first completed look with shorts

This is my 2nd look, with the 3-quarter pants

I had a really good time at The Fashion Social. It gave me an opportunity to explore different types of clothing combinations I do not normally wear. Most of my friends said I look young and trendy. I will definitely visit Tangs again to get my next set of clothes.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Tangs for organising this event. See you next time while I go shopping!

Winetalk @ La Bodega Lounge,Bangsar

I was invited by Celeste (Marketing Manager from Winetalk) for a Wine Appreciation Evening for bloggers on the 24th June 2014, at La Bodega Lounge in Bangsar. The location is just a walking distance from Bangsar Village and easy to find.

I tried 5 types of the wines with an accompanying appetizer. We were served three white wines first, followed by 2 red wines. Most importantly, all these wines were exclusive to Wine Talk; we wouldn't find these in other wine shops.

Tucumen Sauvignon Blanc – Mendoza, Argentina
served with Pulpo a la Gallega- Spanish octopus with potatoes, paprika and extra virgin olive oil

Tucumen is a collection of Premium Mendoza wines created by the owner of Bodega Budeguer. The name ‘Tucumen’ is a tribute to their roots in the Tucumán Valley and the arrival in the Mendoza Valley! Their Sauvignon Blanc is a soft and mellow wine, with delicate floral and citrus notes; it offers a fresh and balanced acidity, with great subtle aromas of peach and lemon. This aromatic Sauvignon Blanc is excellent as an aperitif and a very good companion for seafood, fish, pastas, poultry and goat cheese.

Monte da Peceguina ‘Branco’ – Alentejo, Portugal
served with Gambas al Ajillo with Tiger prawns deliciously sauteed in olive oil, garlic and chili.

The Branco (white) cuvée is a classic blend of local Portuguese varieties; it showcases a very aromatic expression of the grapes, with citrus and floral notes, combined with a great minerality and intense flavors, balanced by a great acidity.  To be enjoyed with roasted prawns Al Ajillo, rich fishes or grilled white meats.

Château Fontarèche Corbières ‘Tradition’ Rosé – Languedoc, France

served with Albondigas Saint Climent- delectable lamb meatballs in a rich brandy sauce.

This is a classic Southern France Rosé, made mostly from a very old local varietal, the Picquepoul Noir. Light grenadine pink in colour, expressive, vibrantly fresh nose with notes of wild strawberries and fruit drops. On the palate, fine balance between the fruitiness, fatness and acidity.

Lion’s Lair Shiraz (Leeuwenkuil) – Swartland, South Africa

served with Arroz Negro con Calamares y Allioli- Spanish rice cooked in a paella with squid ink and squids, topped with garlic mayonnaise and tiger prawns

This cuvee is aged in stainless steel to keep the authenticity of the opulent, bright fruit. A beautifully elegant palate with round tannins, layered with clove spice, ripe cherries and violets. It works excellently with feast-worthy food like roasted duck, grilled meats or spicy tomato pasta.

served with cheese platter- selection of cheeses with dried fruits and crackers

Pago de Cirsus is a mix of local (Tempranillo) and International (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay) grapes with the clear goal of making high quality Reserva wines.

This 'Vendimia Seleccionada' (Selected Harvest) is made from a spread of their best low-yielding parcels, fermented partly in large oak casks and aged for 12 months in oak barrels. It showcases an abundance of red fruits like plum aromas and ripe black berries, typical of Tempranillo, blended with scents of cocoa.

My favourite wine of the night is the first one - Tucumen Sauvignon Blanc. It doesn't taste too strong and is very food-friendly. For sure, I will highly recommend it to my friends. I also really enjoyed the Gambas al Ajillo (Tiger prawns deliciously sauteed in olive oil, garlic and chili) and the cheese platter.

Wine Talk’s sommelier, David Stephan, grew up in a fishing village in the Bretagne region of Western France.  He studied hospitality and sommelerie in professional school for 4 years, with internship including stints in various hotels & renowned restaurants of his region or in Paris. David fell in love with Malaysia at his 1st visit back in 2006, and if he and his wife were to leave China, it would be the 1st destination targeted.  It happened in 2011, when they relocated to Kuala Lumpur, and are now calling it home.

DAVID’s TOP 8 TIPS to appreciate and taste wine like a PRO:

  1. Hold the wine glass by the stem, not by its bowl.
  2. Swirl the wine in your glass, be careful not to spill.
  3. Sniff the wine.
  4. Look at the color of the wines.
  5. Sip the wine. Take note: SIP not gulp.
  6. Take note of the aftertaste.
  7. Swirl, sniff then sip again.
  8. Be familiar with basic wine terms.

I really enjoyed the Wine Talk. All in all, it was a magical evening filled with the clinking of wine glasses coupled with the rich aromas of their appetizers.

Thanks again for the invitation from Wine Talk and La Bodega Lounge. I love my certificate and the complimentary wine!

Lotion lotion - Review for 4 types of Enchanteur Lotions

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank The Butterfly Project - Beauty Community for letting us test and review these 4 types of the Enchanteur Lotion. The Enchanteur Paris Body Serum and Body Lotion range comes in 4 different types catering to the needs of various women today. You may need to try to use it and find out which Enchanteur Paris body lotion suits you best!

Enchanteur Paris Triple Whitening Body Lotion

First review is for the Enchanteur Paris Triple Whitening Body Lotion. The Enchanteur Paris Triple Whitening body lotion is formulated with Sakura Concentrate, Licorice Concentrate and Vitamin B3 that work together concurrently to perform 3 whitening actions and even out skin tone for fair and radiant skin tone. I applied to my hand, the lotion brightens my skin and gave it a smoother texture and smells really good. It's really useful for me as I work in an air-corn room. It will help to moisturise my pair of hands.

Enchanteur Paris Firm & Repair Body Lotion

As we get older, our skin begins to lose firmness. Luckily, we have the product which is Enchanteur Paris Firm & Repair Body Lotion which contains Micro Collagen that helps to firm up skin, making it supple and youthful-looking. Another ingredient contained in this lotion is the Swiss Edelweiss Concentrate that also works actively to repair damaged skin overnight.

ENCHANTEUR Paris Body Serum and Body Lotion

ENCHANTEUR PARIS All-In-One Whitening Body Serum with SPF24++ is dedicated to us who are looking for the all in one product! This body serum contains SPF24++ that helps to protect our skin from harmful UVA and UVB sun rays that cause darknening and premature ageing of the skin. Licorice Concentrate to even out skin tone and lightens the skin. Hyaluronic Hydration is the ultimate ingredient in the body serum to provide 24 hours hydration. It is travel friendly, I brought it to the Pyjamas Party at Tune Hotel in KLIA2 last Saturday and applied it to my hand and leg, my leg was smooth and the lotion smell as good as perfume.

ENCHANTEUR Paris Light & Fresh Body Lotion

Since these are light body lotions, I feel a need to re-apply them again after 3-4 hours. However, as it is water-based, it absorbs quickly into our skin. I applied to my hand and leg before I went out for lunch. ENCHANTEUR Paris Light & Fresh Body Lotion is a non-greasy, fast-absorbing whitening lotion complete with UV protection. You don't have to wait for the product to sink in before putting on your clothes. It keeps my skin well moisturized and also protects it from the sun rays.

Finally, I've been applying these 4 different products of the ENCHANTEUR Paris Body Serum and Body Lotion range, and I must say that they're smooth and easily applied, and can be considered a perfume replacement because it smells so good.

You can get the ENCHANTEUR Paris Body Care range at any major hyper/supermarkets and pharmacies.

ENCHANTEUR Paris All-In-One Whitening Body Serum with SPF24++
RM11.50 (135ml bottle)

Laser Tag Party with Laser Warzone e@curve for The Butterfly Project Anniversary

I had a great weekend on the 10th of May, Saturday. I got selected to join a Laser Tag Party with Laser Warzone for The Butterfly Project's 1st year Anniversary. Look, the cake is so cool....

The charges aren't expensive at all. They also have packages for the Corporate Events and Birthday Parties. Please view their page if my photo's pricing rate is not so clear..
http://www.laserwarzone.com/info/hour-and-rates.html

We got the Party Package as we have around 40 paxs of Butterflies. They have a party room just for us where food is prepared and we also can sit down, mingle around, eat and watch other Butterflies zapping each other on the tv screen!

See that's the medal for those winning group. We all also aim to be the Champion.

Before we start the battle. Logaraaj -Manager of Operation and Marketing & Ismail Remli - Asst Manager of Operation gave us a briefing about laser tag rules. All the participants have to put on a battle vest  (around 3.5kg) - heavy la.. with a phaser attached and enter a large arena to zap each other for points within a given time frame (around 10 minutes).  The bullets are unlimited.

We were divided into 4 groups. My group name is Huntress (around 9 people per group).

And I have met up a new friend for this event. Her name is Cindy Leow. She's so young and energetic but we are enemies as we are in different groups. Ahhahaha!

Are you ready? Yes, we are ready to battle.

This is the battlefield at e@curve. It looks dark but when we all start zapping then you will be more focused on hunting and also on the blinking lights at the vests.

My alias is Commander for the last game. Not bad right?

Actually, It's a lot of fun to play laser tag. The below is the reason why we play laser tag.
- We will foster teamwork & strategic thinking among the team to attack the enemy
- To release pressure (It's really fun, you all should try it. Never try never know)
- Indoor exercise (Sweat until whole body wet)

Finally, we finished the first trial game and 3 real games. Hurray! Our group (Huntress) won third prize.

Once again, I would like to thank all the Huntresses and especially Butterfly Project for bringing us for such a good activity. We totally had fun there. Happy anniversary Butterfly Project!
