PARENTING WITH PHILIPS AVENT

I received an exclusive invitation from Aeon to attend the "Parenting with Confidence Session" at Mid Valley.

The main brand of this talk is Philips Avent. As a new mother, Philips Avent was my preferred brand when buying bottles for my baby. I believe that the brand is good and many other new mothers will choose it as the first choice for their new born baby.

They aren't only famous for milk bottles, but for many other good products such as breast pumps, pressure cookers, steamer blenders.

I'm glad that I sat in for Counsellor Jasmeen Tay Abdullah's talk. Her tips are really useful for me, for example to cook soup with young papaya to produce more breast milk. I managed to improve my milk production by about 20-30 %. She also shared the common "pantangs" for confinement for all the religions. She really understands our cultures and it was a good sharing session from her.

Matron Ivy Kong from LYC Mother care and child centre. This was my second time meeting  her. As I recall, she has more than 15 years of experience on taking care of babies. I was invited to do a demo together with her, demonstrating my own method of how to bath baby at home. She advised me on some of the methods and she also shared how to clean the baby easily, quickly and with fun.

This was also my second time meeting DJ Yoon, as I have met her for another beauty event previously. Now, she is a mother of baby boy and she shared her experiences and lifestyle, what to do and not to do during confinement too. From her session, we could see she is spending most of her time with her baby boy and she is enjoying parenthood.

The last session was cooking. This is what we were waiting for, but not because of we were hungry! It's all about to get the tips and recipes for a baby food. Chef Marina and DJ Yoon performed the demonstration for how to cook using a Philips pressure cooker and steamer blender. Blenders are a must once your baby is 6 months as we need to blend the solid food into porridge. We also learnt my favorite recipe, same as Yoon - Veggie Mac & Cheese. It's rich, cheesy and tastes very nice. Adults and kids are sure to like it.

You may apply for a mummy's card from Aeon to enjoy 5 % discount upon purchasing baby things. Reach out to Aeon for more info.

I enjoyed this event full of helpful tips. Thanks for all the sponsors.

Philips AVENT is enabling more mothers to feel confident and reassured in their journey through motherhood. For more information about Philips AVENT, please visit https://www.facebook.com/Philips.AVENT.MY

Pablo Cheesetart Malaysia in 1 Utama

Pablo in 1 Utama

Now for the very first time, Japan's most popular fresh-baked rare cheese tart has opened it's only outlet in Dec 2016 at One Utama Shopping Mall. I was there for around 40 minutes for the media review, and I can see that the crowded lines of the take away counter don't seem to clear.

Menu

Pablo Mini-Roasted Marshmallow Strawberry - RM9.90/pc

For strawberry lovers, Pablo have just launched their PABLO mini Roasted Marshmallow Strawberry Cheese Tarts on 1st Mar 2017. It's only available for a limited time, so it might be worth a try if you happen to drop by 1 Utama. It's like the original Pablo mini, with cheesy warm soft filling inside topped with a glaze of strawberry sauce on surface. They also added freshly burnt marshmallow, crispy on the outside and melted on the inside. It's a good combination of the texture and taste.

What a wonderful tea time that I had on Saturday with my friends.

I liked it so much that I suggested to their Marketing team to consider opening branches at my home town - Penang.

For me, you can treat their cheese tarts/Pablo Mini as tea time snack as well as dessert. It definitely puts me in a good mood after eating them. Go try them out now!

Sanoook

On 24th June, I was invited by a friend for food tasting at a new opening restaurant at Sunway Pyramid Hotel West. As usual, the traffic at KL was heavy on Friday. It took about 1 hour for me to reach there, but it was totally worth it.

Salmon Cream Croquette - RM19/plate

The dinner started around 7.30pm. We were honoured with a sitting at the VIP room. It was private & had a nice environment located at the side of the restaurant. The starter-salmon cream croquette was recommended by the Captain. For me, this starter looks like chicken nuggets. We were served very quickly and it was great because we were all hungry. The combination of salmon flakes with cheese was very yummy.

One of their signatures - Sushi Burger
(Soft shell crab w Thai mango chilli sauce)

Next, we ordered a few more dishes to taste. Yummy, yummy! The next food served was their signature sushi burger. The soft shell crab was fried nicely and not over cooked, and it mixes well with the spicy chilli.

The food ordering system was very efficient.  We were given a tablet with a digital menu and just had to tap on the food images.

Tomyam soup w River Prawn

Their Tomyam soup, highly recommended! Very "hiong"with the lemongrass, kaffirr lime leaves, fresh big prawn & mushrooms.

If you prefer to share and try a few type of starters. I suggest that you to order the 4 season platter RM38/plate. It comes with a special dipping sauce which is very tasty.

I also ordered the Salmon Sashimi. A plate with 5pcs costs RM16.  Trust me, after your first taste, you will want to order more.

Don't miss the chance to taste the signature skewers with grilled scallop & salmon. When I put them in my mouth, they just melt.

I really like the story behind Sanoook. Sanoook is inspired by the owner's love affair with Thai and Japanese cuisine. Thus, she had an idea to open a restaurant with this combination. Whoever likes Thai and spicy food as well as Japanese can have their meal at the same place.

Honestly, the seafood they serve is fresh. It's really a heaven for the foodies. If you happen to be in Sunway Lagoon or Sunway Pyramid, why not just drop by and try out this restaurant. Don't forget to try their salmon w scallop skewers!

Pink Party - Pink by Pure Beauty - brought by Watsons

First of all, I would like to thank Jude Benjamin Lisa for inviting me as a part to join this party. Mr Jude is an Asst. Marketing Manager, PR & Communication for Watsons. It was exciting to Buka Puasa with the lovely Pink Bloggers as well as the VIP members from Watsons.

Party held at Talent Lounge, PJ Trade Centre.

To kick start the session, the Chef held a demonstration on preparing pink pudding and making cookies. This was a welcome activity to help us with the coming Hari Raya celebration. It will be nice if we bring a packet of homemade cookies while visiting our Muslim friends during Raya time. I shall be practicing a few times before giving any away to my colleagues. Haha.. don't want the cookies to be too hard nor too sweet.

For guests who arrived early, we enjoyed a hair makeover session by Elite. So many hair clips to choose! I love bling-bling! Thanks to the hair professional stylist for doing a makeover for my messy hair after rushing there from work. Haha!

Finally, they opened the buffet line for Berbuka Puasa. There was a large variety of food to choose. I liked the curry, fried sotong and the banana dessert - All tasted very special.

While having our dinner, we were entertained with a Hijab demonstration brought by ZALORA. Those Hijab colours were all sweet sweet pink. No wonder, most of Muslim bloggers were quite excited and asking for prices, and logging to ZALORA's webpage on the spot. Although I'm not a Muslim, but from the demonstration, I now know how Malay ladies use the Hijab.

Thank you for the goodie bag. Stand by for my review of the So Blur Cream.
